The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rodriquez gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Bennett misses with a body punch.

Rodriquez wants to take the fight to the mat but Bennett manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Rodriquez tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Bennett smiles and moves away.

It seemed like Rodriquez was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bennett closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Rodriquez throws a knee to the head but misses.

Rodriquez has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Bennett regains guard immediately.

We've been hearing good reports from Bennett's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Rodriquez has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Bennett is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Rodriquez yanks on the arm and Bennett is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Rodriquez.

Nick Rodriquez really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that PWNAGE logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
