PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Danilo Hooper (ranked 3679 p4p, 3287 weight class) and Jermaine Fizzelstiks (ranked 497 p4p, 460 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hooper forces Fizzelstiks back against the cage and clinches.

Hooper moves in looking to clinch but Fizzelstiks pushes him off.

Fizzelstiks missing with a left hand there. Hooper was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Hooper tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Fizzelstiks manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Fizzelstiks looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Hooper throws a body shot but no joy.

Fizzelstiks throws out a counter right but Hooper avoids it with no problem.

Fizzelstiks walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Hooper shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Hooper throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
It seemed like Fizzelstiks was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Hooper scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Hooper throws a combination. Fizzelstiks tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Hooper throws a right and a left that both miss.
Fizzelstiks takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Fizzelstiks takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Hooper works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Hooper misses with a two punch combination.
A little jabbing left from Fizzelstiks on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Fizzelstiks throws a hook to the side of Hooper's head but Hooper sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hooper rushes Fizzelstiks and presses him up against the cage.
Fizzelstiks blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Hooper swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Fizzelstiks's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hooper is looking to clinch.
Fizzelstiks looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Fizzelstiks circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hooper throws a nice looking combination but Fizzelstiks bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Fizzelstiks has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and Fizzelstiks counters with a nice body shot.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Hooper's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Fizzelstiks avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

A jab-cross combination lands for Hooper and sends Fizzelstiks crashing to the mat! Hooper follows him down to the mat - Fizzelstiks regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hooper in particular looking to stall.
Fizzelstiks is still in real trouble! Can Hooper finish him?
Hooper passes to side control.
Fizzelstiks seems to have recovered his senses.
Hooper connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Fizzelstiks some visible discomfort.
Hooper wants to take a breather but Fizzelstiks manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Hooper.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hooper lands a glancing blow to the side of Fizzelstiks's head.
Hooper takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

and Fizzelstiks counters with a huge left! Hooper is in big trouble! He's backing up but Fizzelstiks isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Hooper from any more damage. A dominating finish by Fizzelstiks!
