Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mason Rogers (ranked 1366 p4p, 2124 weight class) and Jeff Fafa (ranked 145 p4p, 213 weight class). Jeff Fafa has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Mason Rogers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jeff Fafa!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rogers throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Fafa was covering up waiting for the punch and Rogers finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Fafa is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rogers is controlling him.
Rogers tries to free his leg and advance position but Fafa is retaining full guard.
Fafa pulls Rogers in close to prevent any damage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rogers is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Fafa has escaped the position, nice work there.
Fafa felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Rogers works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
We've been hearing good reports from Rogers's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Rogers lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Fafa has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Fafa and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

That was a close round but I would say that Mason Rogers will probably get the nod.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rogers, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
