Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vitaly Anisimov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dougie McFistface! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Winston Howard and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McFistface blocks a jab. Anisimov throws a poor cross that misses
and McFistface counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. McFistface thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. McFistface slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. McFistface drops back looking for a leg! Anisimov is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Anisimov manages to kick McFistface off! McFistface jumps back into Anisimov's guard. McFistface controlling from the top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Anisimov controls McFistface momentarily but McFistface frees himself. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw McFistface working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anisimov being controlled here, momentarily. McFistface is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Anisimov wants to sweep but no luck. Anisimov preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. McFistface thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Anisimov utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. McFistface distracts Anisimov with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Anisimov avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. McFistface passes easily into side control. Nice work. McFistface in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Anisimov is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
