Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Shaun Skaggs (ranked 4883 p4p, 4958 weight class) and John Frost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shaun Skaggs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Frost!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Taro Takaoka and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frost ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Frost throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Skaggs.
A telegraphed right hand from Skaggs misses the target.
Skaggs throws a combination that misses
and Frost makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Frost keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Skaggs.
Frost checks a leg kick nicely.
Frost avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Frost drives through with a takedown into Skaggs's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Frost drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Frost jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Let's hope that Frost has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Skaggs throws a front kick aimed at Frost's knee but Frost avoids it well.

Frost shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Skaggs's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Skaggs wants to sweep but no luck.

Frost is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Frost gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Skaggs misses with a low kick.
Frost circles away from the clinch attempt
and Frost counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Skaggs is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Some bone on bone action there as Frost checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Frost throws a fast counter high kick but Skaggs manages to duck under it in time.
Shaun Skaggs is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Skaggs throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

and Frost counters with a two punch combo.
Skaggs connects with a good right hand that stumbles Frost. Frost circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Frost drives through and clinches with Skaggs against the cage.

Frost pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Frost shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Skaggs manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Frost stands up and beckons Skaggs to join him on the feet.

Frost shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Frost takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Frost is controlling the pace.
Frost wants to pass to mount but Skaggs is defending the position.
Frost prevents Skaggs from improving his position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

John Frost dominated that round.
That's time! Skaggs's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Frost shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Skaggs sprawls well. Skaggs wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Frost gets slowly back to his feet.

Skaggs throws a hook but Frost blocks it.
Frost is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Frost looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Skaggs is looking for a counter combo.
Skaggs fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Frost.

Frost thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Skaggs is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Frost has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

John Frost is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Skaggs throws the left hand but Frost avoids the punch easily.
Frost shoots in for a takedown but Skaggs shows good takedown defense.
Shaun Skaggs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Frost.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Skaggs manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Frost tries to free his leg and advance position but Skaggs is retaining full guard.

Frost postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Frost pulls Skaggs in close to prevent any damage.
Frost wants to sweep but no luck.
Frost wants to get back to his feet but Skaggs is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Skaggs trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Frost is pulling down on Skaggs's head. It's preventing any offense from Skaggs, at least for the moment.
Skaggs wants to control from the top but Frost keeps moving.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Skaggs lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Frost has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Frost and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Frost appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Some bone on bone action there as Frost checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Frost has hold of Skaggs's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Skaggs manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Frost misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Skaggs tries to hold on but Frost pushes him away.

Frost throwing strikes here but Skaggs is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Skaggs is looking to get to half guard.
Skaggs wants to hold on but Frost pushes him away.
Frost sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Frost.
Frost lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Skaggs blocking the ground and pound.

Frost working for a submission but Skaggs is keeping him at bay.
Frost punching from mount but Skaggs doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

John Frost comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
