Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roy Baker (ranked 5293 p4p, 5303 weight class) and Rudi Roberts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Roy Baker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rudi Roberts!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baker fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Roberts avoids it really well and circles away.
Baker misses with a body shot.
Roberts feints the counter takedown.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Baker enables Roberts to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Baker manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Roberts passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Baker regains half guard, as Roberts was trying to land strikes.
Roberts wants to pass to mount but Baker is defending the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Baker is trying to maintain the position but Roberts is very close to passing his half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Baker manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Roberts wants to get up but he can't break Baker's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Baker is trying to hold Roberts in close to prevent damage but Roberts has managed to pass into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Roberts wants to free his trapped foot but Baker is holding on for dear life with his legs.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Roberts stalling.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Roberts trying to mount his opponent but Baker defends it.
Baker is looking for a sweep. Roberts is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Roberts is trying to control. Baker wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Roberts throws a looping overhand right but Baker ducks down to avoid it.

Baker gets caught napping as Roberts dives in and scores a takedown. Baker manages to retain guard.

Baker is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Roberts wants to stand and escape but instead Baker has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Roberts wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Roberts is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Baker is aware though and is defending well.

Roberts got a little sloppy there for a moment and Baker has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Roberts has managed to get both his arms back between Baker's legs - danger averted.

Roberts is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Baker doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Roberts.

Roberts looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Roberts is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Roberts perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Roberts prevents Baker from improving his position.

Baker is defending against the submission attempts here by Roberts.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Roberts shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Roberts showed some decent athleticism there.
Baker scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Roberts manages to mount him!

Roberts is controlling the position but Baker somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.

Roberts moves nicely into side control.
Baker is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Rudi Roberts showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Roberts slaps away a takedown attempt from Baker, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Roberts flicks out a counter leg kick but Baker steps away.
Baker moves in looking to clinch but Roberts pushes him off.
Roberts doesn't manage to clinch there - Baker circles away.
Baker tries a low kick but Roberts avoids it.

Roberts shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Baker is trying to defend but Roberts finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Roberts looks up at the clock and then as Baker takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Roberts smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Roberts is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Baker's shoulder. That is not cool.
Baker struggling a bit here.
Baker is not content to let Roberts control the position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Roberts tries to move into full mount but can't pass Baker's legs.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Baker goes for a double leg but Roberts avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Roberts continues to drive forward.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Roberts has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Baker is trying to keep an underhook but Roberts manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Baker tries to kick Roberts off in order to stand up. Roberts Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Baker is looking to regain half guard here but Roberts keeps moving and retains side control.

Roberts is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Baker has escaped the position, nice work there.
Baker is trying to improve his position.
Rudi Roberts has got the better of the ground game so far.

Roberts wants to control but Baker is keeping him busy.
Baker is trying to escape the position but Roberts is controlling the position.
Check out the look on Roberts's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
The referee asks Roberts politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Roberts prefers to stall for the moment though.

Rudi Roberts comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Roberts has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
