Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lars Christiansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Sofa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lars Christiansen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Sofa! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sofa gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Christiansen chips away with some ground and pound. Christiansen is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Christiansen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Christiansen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Christiansen drops back looking for a leg! Sofa is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sofa manages to kick Christiansen off! Christiansen jumps back into Sofa's guard. Sofa is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Christiansen drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sofa looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sofa looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sofa! Christiansen gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Christiansen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sofa tries to pass to full mount but Christiansen defends it. Christiansen blocking the ground and pound attempt from Sofa. Christiansen actively working from the bottom here. Christiansen looking for submissions off his back. Christiansen is breathing heavily. Christiansen actively working from the bottom here. Christiansen is trying to get back to full guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Sofa trying to control the action but Christiansen is working from the bottom.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Nice takedown defense from Sofa. No joy for Christiansen on that attempt. Sofa shoots in and drives through. Christiansen sprawls well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Christiansen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Sofa trying to control the position.
Christiansen postures up and lands a big shot to Sofa's brow. Christiansen thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Christiansen trying to stand up but can't free himself from Sofa's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sofa is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Christiansen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Christiansen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Sofa looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Sofa has momentary wrist control but Christiansen slips an elbow through the middle.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Sofa shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Christiansen pinned against the cage. Christiansen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Sofa closes the distance and clinches up with Christiansen, looking for a takedown. Sofa pushes Christiansen against the cage but Christiansen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Lars Christiansen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Sofa. Christiansen scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Sofa wants to get back to full guard. Sofa is defending against the submission attempts here by Christiansen.
Christiansen is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Sofa has managed to free his arm - good work. Christiansen seems to be working for a kimura but Sofa defends the submission attempt. Christiansen seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Sofa is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
