Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lars Christiansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Sofa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sofa gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Christiansen chips away with some ground and pound.
Christiansen is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Christiansen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Christiansen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Christiansen drops back looking for a leg! Sofa is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sofa manages to kick Christiansen off! Christiansen jumps back into Sofa's guard.
Sofa is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Christiansen drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sofa looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sofa looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sofa!
Christiansen gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Christiansen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Sofa tries to pass to full mount but Christiansen defends it.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Christiansen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Sofa shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Christiansen pinned against the cage. Christiansen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Sofa closes the distance and clinches up with Christiansen, looking for a takedown. Sofa pushes Christiansen against the cage but Christiansen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Lars Christiansen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Sofa.
Christiansen scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
