Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Darren McCarty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 37 - 28 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matt Dammon!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Eddie Farnsworth and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dammon's hands are dropping dangerously low here and McCarty connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Dammon scrambles back to his feet.
A big left from McCarty misses.
Dammon with the counter takedown but McCarty avoids it easily.
McCarty ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
McCarty swings and misses with a hook to the body.
And Dammon tries to counter it with a takedown but McCarty pushes his down on his head and steps out.
McCarty lands the left hand.
McCarty misses with an uppercut. Dammon saw that one coming.
Dammon drops down looking to force a counter takedown but McCarty defends it well.
McCarty takes a swing at Dammon's ribcage but misses.
McCarty drops Dammon with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Dammon looks back up at him and smiles so McCarty waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Dammon is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Crack! McCarty connects with the perfect overhand right and Dammon falls face first to the canvas. Timbeeeeeeeer! Beautiful knockout for McCarty!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Darren McCarty!
