PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Dwayne King (ranked 21294 p4p, 4110 weight class) and Nik Snow (ranked 704 p4p, 476 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Nik Snow was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 12 - 1, fighting out of New York, Dwayne King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 16 - 3, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nik Snow!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Emerson Jorge and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body punch from Snow.
King misses with a kick to the body.
Snow looks to land a right hand but King moved out of range.
King tries to close the distance and clinch but Snow swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Snow fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and King has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
King gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Snow is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by King.
Nik Snow seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
King slips under a jab from Snow.
King tries to clinch there but Snow circles away.
King throws a hook but Snow avoids it easily.
Snow replies with a solid counter kick to the body but King blocks it well.
King pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
King connects with a solid leg kick.
King uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Snow.
King slips a straight right by Snow.
Snow lands a nice hook to King's body. King takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
King tries to close the distance and clinch but Snow swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
King throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Snow avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
King throws the left hand but Snow avoids the punch easily.
Snow throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

King swings for the body but Snow moves out of range.
A little jabbing left from Snow on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Snow blocks the body kick.
Snow cracks King with a right hand to the side of the head.
Nice shot lands for Snow.
King uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Snow.
A left lands for Snow.
King wants to clinch up but Snow keeps it at a distance.
King tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Snow paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Snow throws a hook to the side of King's head but King sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Snow connects with a solid leg kick.
Snow with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
King ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
King tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Snow with a jab.
Snow is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
We've been informed that Snow has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

King gets a clinch.
Snow lands with a left to the head.
King throws a punch but it's blocked by Snow.
Still in the clinch, Snow scores with a nice short uppercut.
Snow doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Snow blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Snow lands with a short shot to the head.

Snow struggles to land a body shot inside as King controls his hands.
King misses with the head strike.
King misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Snow.
King misses with some punches.
Snow trying to stall but King improves his position.
King swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Snow digs a right hand underneath King's ribcage. King let out a lung full of air as it connected.
King throws a punch but it's blocked by Snow.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Snow breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
King takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
King sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Snow connects with a solid leg kick.
King swings and misses with a hook to the body.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Nik Snow dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!

Snow scores with a jab to the jaw.
Snow avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
King lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Snow has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Donk. Snow catches King right on the button with a cross.
Snow uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Snow throws a quick inside leg kick.
King throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Snow fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

King bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
King walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts King, as that shot connected.
Snow ducks down and throws a hook to the body but King moves away.

Snow moves out of range of the body kick from King.
Snow chopping away at his opponent's legs.

King is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Snow throws an uppercut from half a mile away. King sees it coming and avoids it easily.

King throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
King misses with an uppercut. Snow saw that one coming.
Snow has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by King.
King loads up on a big right hand but Snow slips the punch.
Snow uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Nice shot lands for King.
The fight stays on the outside here - King looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Snow swings for the body but King moves out of range.
Snow tries to bum rush King with a series of wild strikes but King uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
King is looking for a counter combo.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
King takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
King throws a lazy right hand but Snow sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Snow throws a low kick but King avoids it.
King throws a series of punches but Snow moves out of range.
King is looking to clinch but Snow is avoiding it.

Nik Snow showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

King moves forwards but Snow connects with a nice, crisp jab.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
King has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from King there as he acknowledges the shot.
King tries to land a front kick but Snow steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
King's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Snow connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! King scrambles back to his feet.
King takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Snow steps to the side to avoid the strikes from King.
King avoids the body shot from Snow.
A solid leg kick lands there for Snow.

Snow lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
King moves in looking to clinch but Snow pushes him off.
King misses with an uppercut. Snow saw that one coming.

Snow bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of King's head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The fighters circling - Snow throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
King slips a straight right by Snow.
King tries to move into range but Snow moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
King takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
King chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Snow can pounce on him.

Snow throws a head kick that misses.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from King.

King looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Snow circles away from the clinch attempt.

Snow comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

King seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Nik Snow comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Snow has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
