Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Benson Mason (ranked 1829 p4p, 1557 weight class) and Sey La Vie (ranked 205 p4p, 178 weight class). Sey La Vie has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Benson Mason's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Benson Mason!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sey La Vie!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Percy O'Donnell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Mason stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

It looks like Sey La Vie has been cut.
La Vie tries to move into range but Mason moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
La Vie takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Mason digs a good body shot into La Vie's ribs.

Mason feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends La Vie sprawling to the canvas! La Vie rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Mason finish him?!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mason missing with a left hand there. La Vie was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Nice uppercut lands for Mason. That snapped La Vie's head back.

That has opened up Sey La Vie's cut even more.

Mason cracks La Vie with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! La Vie looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Mason finish him?

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mason closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops La Vie! Mason dives in looking to finish! La Vie is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Benson Mason!
