Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Omar Demir (ranked 5023 p4p, 5038 weight class) and Timothy Ruckers (ranked 0 p4p, 415 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Omar Demir! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Timothy Ruckers! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ruckers connects with a body shot. A left and a right from Ruckers both land. Nice combination. Demir throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Demir drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Ruckers tries to land a sweep but no joy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Demir controlling from the top position. Ruckers wants to sweep but no luck. Ruckers wants to get back to his feet but Demir is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Demir stands and throws Ruckers's legs to the side, diving into side control. Demir is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Ruckers will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
That's one minute gone in the round. Demir is trying to get an arm triangle but Ruckers is defending well. Demir scoring with punches and elbows. Demir controlling from side mount. Ruckers striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Demir thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Demir moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Demir landing strikes. Demir is staying tight to Ruckers's torso, preventing him from escaping. Demir decides to stand back up. Ruckers throws a sloppy head kick and Demir moves out of range easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ruckers plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Demir throws a jab but it's blocked by Ruckers. Ruckers is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Demir on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Ruckers fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Demir. Ruckers scores with the left hand. Demir knows he should have avoided that one. Ruckers closes the distance and lands a one-two. Demir closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Ruckers lands with a right to the head. Demir breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ruckers lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Demir circles away quickly and effectively. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Demir has closed the distance and engaged Ruckers in a clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Ruckers's face as he tries to break the clinch. Demir on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Ruckers is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Demir fails to pull the fight into his guard.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Ruckers creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Ruckers looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Ruckers is trying to force a seperation but Demir has the dominant position. Ruckers wants to break the clinch but can't.
Demir pulls Ruckers into guard.
Demir seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Ruckers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Demir swivels though and keeps the full guard. Demir trying to control the position here. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Timothy Ruckers will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ruckers with a jab. Ruckers throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Demir. Ruckers lands a nice hook to Demir's body. Demir takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Ruckers tries to clinch but Demir is having none of it. Demir closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Demir lands in his opponent's guard. Demir wanted to stand there but Ruckers had control of the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Demir controlling from the top position. Demir pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ruckers is keeping the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Demir looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Demir has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Demir connects with a couple of short punches. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Demir stopping the sweep attempt from Ruckers. Demir not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Demir closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ruckers did well to prevent Demir getting side control. Ruckers wants to control but Demir is keeping busy.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Demir is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Demir working the head and body with strikes. Demir is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ruckers defends it well. Demir controlling the action here. Ruckers trying to hold on to Demir's head to control him but Demir postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Demir is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ruckers has managed to free his arm - good work. Demir controlling the action here. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ruckers is looking for a sweep. Demir is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Omar Demir dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round! Ruckers's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Ruckers duly obliges. Demir throws a solid leg kick but Ruckers takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Demir. Ruckers tries to counter by closing the distance. Demir dives in and scores a takedown into Ruckers's guard. Ruckers is trying to hold Demir in close to prevent damage but Demir has managed to pass into half guard.

Demir tries to pass the half guard into mount. Ruckers knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Demir slows the pace down in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Demir trying to pass the guard but Ruckers defending well. Ruckers is trying to get back to full guard. Demir is thwarting Ruckers's attempts to control the position. Demir not doing much here.
Omar Demir overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Demir takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Demir controlling the action here. This is a sustained period of stalling by Demir.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Demir looks to throw a body kick and Ruckers cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Demir rushes Ruckers and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Demir lands a takedown into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ruckers being controlled here, momentarily. Ruckers is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Demir lands a couple of elbows. Demir stands up over Ruckers, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Demir controlling from the top position. Demir distracts Ruckers with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Demir is stalling in the full guard. Demir stopping the sweep attempt from Ruckers. Demir controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Demir with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
And that's the end of the fight! Omar Demir showed his dominance in that final round. I think Demir has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
