Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Kill Shot Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vladimir Smirnoff!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smirnoff will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jackson goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Smirnoff has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Smirnoff throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Jackson moves into range and clinches up with Smirnoff.

Jackson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Smirnoff, who protects the arm well.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jackson is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Smirnoff to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Smirnoff shrugs it off.
Jackson is looking to work his way around to Smirnoff's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Smirnoff really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jackson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jackson is working for a guillotine from mount but Smirnoff frees his head quite easily.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Smirnoff can do anything to dispel that myth.

Smirnoff looking to sit in guard and control but Jackson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jackson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
