PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Manilo Namilo (ranked 4999 p4p, 6071 weight class) and Tez Missouri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Namilo throws a push kick but Missouri slaps the foot to one side.
Horrible takedown attempt by Missouri or perhaps it was just good defense by Namilo, which made it look bad.
A low kick lands for Missouri .
Some wild striking there from Namilo.
Missouri darts in looking for a takedown but Namilo gets double underhooks and turns Missouri into the cage.
Missouri slips under a jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Namilo is nestled in close to Missouri , controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Namilo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Namilo throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Namilo stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Missouri to get to his feet.
Tez Missouri seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Namilo swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Missouri tries to clinch there but Namilo circles away.

Missouri tries to sprawl but Namilo drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Namilo slows the pace down in half guard.

Namilo is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Namilo is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Namilo throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Missouri wants to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Missouri is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Namilo winds up and cracks Missouri with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Namilo takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Missouri is trying to stand up here but Namilo is controlling him well.

Namilo postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Missouri to stand up.
Missouri shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Namilo defends it nicely.
Manilo Namilo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tez Missouri .
Missouri connects with a high kick.

Namilo moves into the clinch successfully.
Missouri jumps guard but Namilo turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Namilo looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Namilo is trying to break the clinch but Missouri is controlling him.
Missouri tries to pull guard but Namilo won't allow it.
Missouri tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Namilo's elbow.
Namilo tries to circle away but Missouri has him pinned against the cage.

Missouri has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Namilo avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Namilo throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Missouri s head.
Namilo wants to get back to striking at distance but Missouri won't allow it.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Namilo fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Missouri looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Missouri is bucking up trying to escape but Namilo cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Namilo breaks from Missouri 's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Namilo is landing with some decent strikes but Missouri is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Missouri is rocked!
Namilo drops a big elbow. That's hurt Missouri ! More shots from Namilo and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
