Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dmitry Boytsov (ranked 3838 p4p, 2105 weight class) and Scott Thomas (ranked 508 p4p, 301 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dmitry Boytsov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Scott Thomas! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed right hand from Boytsov misses the target. Boytsov tries for a takedown but Thomas sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Thomas uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Boytsov. Thomas showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Boytsov.
Boytsov catches Thomas with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Thomas tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Boytsov was well out of range. Poor timing from Thomas. Thomas lands with an uppercut that bounces Boytsov off the cage and back into range. Thomas keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Boytsov. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boytsov shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Thomas defends it nicely. Boytsov shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Boytsov showed some decent athleticism there.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Boytsov in particular looking to stall. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Thomas trying to control here.
Boytsov tries to pass the half guard into mount. Thomas knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Boytsov is working for a submission of some sort.
Boytsov prevents Thomas from improving his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Boytsov takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Thomas controlling the position well. Boytsov is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Thomas has his hands clasped together around Boytsov's back. He's all about the action. Thomas is looking to control Boytsov's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Thomas avoid being mounted? Thomas keeping control of the position. Boytsov is looking to take a break and control but Thomas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Thomas controlling the position well. Thomas is looking for a sweep. Boytsov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boytsov is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Boytsov wants to control but Thomas is keeping him busy. Thomas is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Thomas is looking to control Boytsov's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Thomas avoid being mounted? Boytsov is nestled in close to Thomas, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Thomas is looking to improve his position.
Boytsov is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Thomas wants to control but Boytsov is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Thomas controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Boytsov is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Thomas is just riding it out for now. Boytsov eventually gives up the hold. Boytsov wants to take a breather but Thomas is having none of it. Thomas tries to get to full guard but Boytsov has control of the leg. Boytsov lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Thomas is doing well to control the position and prevent Boytsov from advancing to side control. Thomas trying to control from the bottom.
Boytsov is working for a submission of some sort.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Dmitry Boytsov dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Thomas leaves Boytsov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Boytsov misses with a wild body shot. Thomas feints the counter takedown. Thomas cracks Boytsov with an open hand slap. Boytsov throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Thomas counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Boytsov is trying to control but can't.
Thomas slips a nice elbow through Boytsov's hands, connecting with Boytsov's forehead. Thomas is nestled in close to Boytsov, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Boytsov gets full guard. Boytsov is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Thomas has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Boytsov to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Thomas is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Boytsov pulls down on the head and he's put Thomas to sleep! This one is all over!
