PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Walters (ranked 6622 p4p, 2412 weight class) and Royce Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 359 weight class). Gracie comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Jiu Jitsu by Smoke Serpent kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie looks for a takedown but Walters sprawls well.
Gracie ducks under a wild hook from Walters.
Gracie closes this distance looking for a takedown but Walters circles away.
Walters fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Gracie on the side of the head.
Gracie steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Walters.
Gracie shoots and misses
and Walters cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Antonio Walters has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Royce Gracie.

Walters gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Gracie pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Walters is keeping the position for now.
Walters knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.
Walters looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gracie is one step ahead there.

Gracie is working for a kimura but Walters is defending it quite comfortably.
Gracie has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Walters is working to get back to half guard.

Walters reaches up to try and pull Gracie in and control his posture, but Gracie latches on to an arm and pivots quickly for an armbar! Walters taps out and this one is all over!

A relieved looking Royce Gracie thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
