PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gul Dukat (ranked 2044 p4p, 869 weight class) and Toby Keith Yrkje (ranked 284 p4p, 130 weight class). Dukat comes into the arena with Guillotine (Swordz) blaring out of the sound system. Yrkje is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: As Good As I Once Was. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gul Dukat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Toby Keith Yrkje!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dukat ducks under a wild hook from Yrkje.
Dukat tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Dukat ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Yrkje moves away.
Yrkje tries a quick counter leg kick but Dukat is wise to it.
Dukat is looking to clinch.
Yrkje wants to land a leg kick but Dukat is out of range.

Yrkje is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Dukat can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Dukat feints and as Yrkje raises his hands in defense, Dukat changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Gul Dukat will probably get the nod.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dukat, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In his post fight interview, Gul Dukat started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
