Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 20 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Bennett! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 28 - 29 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Crown Halo! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Halo fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Bennett checks it well. Halo works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Halo throws a chopping leg kick but Bennett manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Halo blocks a jab. Bennett has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Clark's Champion's in the buildup to the fight. Halo lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Halo fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Halo has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Halo misses with a double jab
and Bennett cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Bennett scores with the left hand. Halo knows he should have avoided that one. Nice shot lands for Bennett. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Halo checks a leg kick. Halo swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Bennett makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Halo lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bennett missing with a left hand there. Halo was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Halo displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bennett throws out the jab. Halo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Bennett lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Bennett turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Bennett connects with a solid leg kick. Bennett slips a straight right by Halo. A nice leg kick from Bennett, right into the meat of the thigh.

and Halo takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Bennett throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Bennett shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Bennett tries to score with a low kick but Halo moves his leg out of the way. Bennett throws a right and a left that Halo avoids nicely. Halo ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Bennett throws a low kick but Halo avoids it. Bennett takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Bennett looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bennett thuds a left hand into Halo's body. Halo checks the leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Halo throws a hook but Bennett blocks it. Bennett lands a nice leg kick that just misses Halo's sensitive parts. Halo throws a hook but Bennett avoids it easily. Crown Halo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bennett ducks under a wild hook from Halo. Halo lands a glancing blow to the side of Bennett's head. Halo misses with a wild body shot. Bennett throwing a counter right hand but Halo manages to avoid it. Halo scores with a one two! Bennett lands with a right hand. Bennett ducks right into an uppercut from Halo. Halo takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Bennett takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that John Bennett will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Bennett ducks under a wild hook from Halo. A looping hook to the body misses from Halo. Bennett does a little dance to reset his feet. Bennett wants to land a leg kick but Halo is out of range. Halo throws a leg kick but Bennett checks it. Bennett was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Halo throws a right and a left that Bennett avoids nicely. Halo scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Nice cross by Halo. Bennett digs a good body shot into Halo's ribs. Bennett scores with a leg kick.

and Bennett connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Halo's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Bennett defending well as Halo loads up on a big left hand. Halo lands with a good body shot. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bennett cracks Halo with an open hand slap. Bennett tries to score with a low kick but Halo moves his leg out of the way.

Halo scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
John Bennett is winning the standup battle so far. Bennett keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Bennett moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Bennett comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Halo checks a leg kick nicely. A combination from Halo does no damage. Bennett throwing a counter right hand but Halo manages to avoid it. Halo on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Halo misses with an uppercut
and Bennett counters with a lovely shot to the body. Bennett avoids the head kick by Halo.
Bennett bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Halo's head. Halo pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Good leg kick by Bennett. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bennett throws a low kick but Halo avoids it. Halo misses with a hook. Some wild striking there from Bennett.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bennett throws a leg kick but Halo sees it coming and moves out of range. Bennett moves out of range of the strikes. It looked like Bennett wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Halo takes one on the button. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Bennett. Bennett moves out of range of the leg kick from Halo. Bennett slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Bennett throws a leg kick and Halo counters with a series of strikes. Bennett will be more careful next time no doubt. Bennett dodges the punch combination from Halo.

The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Halo is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9, he's up! Wow, he cut that one a bit fine! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Halo throws an overhand right that lands on Bennett's shoulder, as Bennett tries to avoid the shot. Halo throws a push kick but Bennett slaps the foot to one side. Bennett lands a nice leg kick that just misses Halo's sensitive parts. The fight stays on the outside here - Halo looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
