Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yoshimitsu Kunimitsu (ranked 4968 p4p, 4094 weight class) and Kwame Nkrumah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kunimitsu comes to the cage accompanied by Kickboxer Soundtrack. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Yoshimitsu Kunimitsu ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kwame Nkrumah! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Santiago Holmes and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kunimitsu tries to score with a low kick but Nkrumah moves his leg out of the way. Kunimitsu throws a jab when Nkrumah was well out of range. Nkrumah lands with an uppercut that bounces Kunimitsu off the cage and back into range. Kunimitsu shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Kunimitsu tries to pass the half guard into mount. Nkrumah knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Well, if Kunimitsu is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Kunimitsu is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kunimitsu is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's one minute gone in the round. Nkrumah regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Kunimitsu . Kunimitsu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nkrumah swivels though and keeps the full guard. Kunimitsu throwing strikes but missing. Kunimitsu connects with a couple of short punches. Kunimitsu is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Kunimitsu stops Nkrumah from standing up. Kunimitsu working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Kunimitsu throwing strikes but missing. Kunimitsu loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Kunimitsu chips away with some ground and pound. Kunimitsu throws a big right hand that misses. Kunimitsu throws a big elbow that misses. Kunimitsu throwing strikes but missing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kunimitsu landing some decent shots from guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nkrumah can do anything to dispel that myth. Kunimitsu postures up in Nkrumah's guard and throws a big left but Nkrumah blocks it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kunimitsu trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Kunimitsu working some strikes from top position. Kunimitsu decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Kunimitsu ducks right into an uppercut from Nkrumah. Kunimitsu looking to score a takedown here. Nkrumah is defending well but Kunimitsu drives through and ends up in Nkrumah's guard. Nkrumah being controlled here, momentarily.

Kunimitsu controlling from the top position. Kunimitsu throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Nkrumah works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kunimitsu stops Nkrumah from standing up. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Yoshimitsu Kunimitsu dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Jab by Nkrumah. Kunimitsu is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Nkrumah's half guard. Kunimitsu slips a nice elbow through Nkrumah's hands, connecting with Nkrumah's forehead. Kunimitsu lands with a punch from half guard. Kunimitsu perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Kunimitsu missing with the ground and pound from half guard. We've been informed that Nkrumah has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kunimitsu takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Kunimitsu not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Kunimitsu looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kunimitsu throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Kunimitsu winds up and cracks Nkrumah with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Kunimitsu controlling the action here. Kunimitsu looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Nkrumah with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Kunimitsu is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Nkrumah can do to turn this around? That's two minutes gone in the round. Kunimitsu looks to land a strike but Nkrumah avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Kunimitsu is in close to Nkrumah's body, working some short punches and elbows. Kunimitsu wants to pass the guard but Nkrumah is keeping the position. Kunimitsu with a flurry of punches that miss. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Kunimitsu trying to control but Nkrumah is working from the bottom. Kunimitsu is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Kunimitsu closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kunimitsu lands in his opponent's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kunimitsu scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Kunimitsu cracks Nkrumah with a solid left hand. Kunimitsu throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Nkrumah works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Nkrumah wants to get back to his feet but Kunimitsu is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Kunimitsu with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kunimitsu stays in close to Nkrumah's body and controls the position. Kunimitsu is in close to Nkrumah's body, working some short punches and elbows. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Yoshimitsu Kunimitsu dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round! Kunimitsu walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Kunimitsu fails with the takedown. Kunimitsu needs to keep his hands up - Nkrumah had a free shot at his head there. Nkrumah listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Good exchange - Nkrumah coming out on top. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kunimitsu . Nkrumah is looking for the big counter here. Kunimitsu misses with a combination
and Nkrumah counters with a lovely straight right hand! Kunimitsu with a poor takedown and Nkrumah counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Kunimitsu gets the takedown into side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kunimitsu is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Nkrumah is trying to escape and Kunimitsu transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Nkrumah is forced to tap! Nice work there by Kunimitsu ! Very nice indeed!
