Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Hunt (ranked 2712 p4p, 1649 weight class) and Marcus Hughes (ranked 397 p4p, 249 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, James Hunt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marcus Hughes!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Francis DeMontford and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes throws an overhand right that lands on Hunt's shoulder, as Hunt tries to avoid the shot.
Hughes lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Hughes uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hunt has time to react.
Hughes misses with a lunging right hand
and Hunt counters with a left to the body.
Hughes misses the jab.
Hunt slips under a jab.
Hughes misses with a hook. Hunt ducked under it nicely.
Nice jab there from Hunt.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Hughes has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hunt stuffs the takedown attempt from Hughes. Hughes gets slowly back to his feet.
Hughes throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
It looked like Hunt was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Hughes throws a body shot but no joy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hunt takes one to the chin there.
Hughes throws out a loose jab but Hunt uses good head movement to avoid it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hunt looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hughes on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Hughes lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Hughes missing with a left hand there. Hunt was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Hughes with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Hunt uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hughes.
Hughes lands a jab.
Hughes shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hunt as he avoids it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hughes ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hunt moves away.
An attempted straight right counter from Hunt misses the target.
Hunt drops his hands momentarily and Hughes takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Hughes shoots for a double leg takedown but Hunt sprawls well. He's pushed Hughes's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
James Hunt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Hughes.
Hughes throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Hughes fails with the takedown
and Hunt counters with a head kick that wobbles Hughes - left then right he sways and one more bomb from Hunt sends him down. This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Hunt!
