The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Contreiras avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Contreiras checks a leg kick.
Slaissi lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

It looks like Victor Contreiras has been cut.
Contreiras keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Slaissi clinches up with Contreiras and pushes him back against the cage.
Slaissi keeps control of Contreiras as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Contreiras tries to break the clinch but Slaissi is controlling the position.
Slaissi misses with a punch on the inside.
Slaissi scores with a shoulder strike.
Contreiras wants to break free but Slaissi has control.
The referee is keeping an eye on Slaissi - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Contreiras breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Slaissi throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Contreiras takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Slaissi swings for the body but Contreiras moves out of range.
Contreiras throws out a counter right but Slaissi avoids it with no problem.
Contreiras scores with a nice head shot.

It looks like Kimbo Slaissi has been cut.
Slaissi looks to land a right hand but Contreiras moved out of range.

Slaissi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Contreiras! But no joy.

Slaissi pushes Contreiras up against the cage in a clinch.

Contreiras breaks the clinch.
Slaissi scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Nice defenses there by Slaissi.
Slaissi cracks Contreiras with an open hand slap.
Contreiras throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Slaissi lunges at Contreiras with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Contreiras's hand.
Slaissi misses with a body shot
and Contreiras cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Slaissi tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Contreiras was well out of range. Poor timing from Slaissi.
Slaissi ducks under a wild hook from Contreiras.
Contreiras misses with an uppercut

and Slaissi moves into the clinch.
A short left from Slaissi.

That has opened up Victor Contreiras's cut even more.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Slaissi stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Contreiras is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Contreiras doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Slaissi lands a right hand that snaps the head of Contreiras backwards.

Contreiras pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nice uppercut lands for Slaissi. That snapped Contreiras's head back.
Contreiras fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Slaissi throws a series of punches but Contreiras moves out of range.
Slaissi throws a body shot but no joy.
Slaissi looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Slaissi, as that shot connected.

The cut above Victor Contreiras's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Contreiras blocks a leg kick.
Slaissi digs a good body shot into Contreiras's ribs.

Slaissi drops Contreiras with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Contreiras looks back up at him and smiles so Slaissi waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Contreiras is rocked!
Slaissi walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Contreiras drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Slaissi swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Contreiras's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kimbo Slaissi!
