Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Scotty Neer (ranked 4237 p4p, 3145 weight class) and John Kelly (ranked 555 p4p, 445 weight class). Neer kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Back In Black. Scotty Neer could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to John Kelly's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Neer has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Neer there as he acknowledges the shot.
Kelly connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Neer is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kelly's half guard.
Kelly felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Kelly has hold of Neer's hands but Neer slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Neer thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kelly's head.
Kelly blocking the ground and pound attempt from Neer.
Kelly really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Neer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neer is looking to take a break and control but Kelly is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Neer seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Neer frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Neer lands a couple of good shots and Kelly has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Neer is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Kelly defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Neer lands with a hammerfist to the side of Kelly's head.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Neer.

Neer is looking for the choke from the back position but Kelly is controlling his hands well.

You can see the frustration on Kelly's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Neer is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Neer throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Kelly!
Neer throwing strikes and Kelly squirms under the pressure, ending up mounted.
Neer lands a big elbow.

Kelly is bucking up trying to escape but Neer cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Kelly is still in real trouble! Can Neer finish him?

Neer breaks from Kelly's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Neer working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Neer takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Kelly takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Neer's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
