Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ranger Romero! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Glass Joe! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Joe shoots in for a double leg but Romero sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Romero fails with the takedown and Joe counters with a nice double leg into guard. Joe wants to pass the guard but Romero is keeping the position. Romero is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Joe is staying active underneath Romero, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Romero looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Joe wants to control but Romero is keeping busy and won't allow it. Romero is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's one minute gone in the round. Romero lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Romero wants to take a breather but Joe is having none of it. Romero wants to pass the guard but Joe is defending well. Romero is keen to just control but Joe is a slippery customer. Joe is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Romero pulls his head out easily. Joe looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Joe looks gassed! That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Romero scores a takedown into full mount! Joe wants to control but Romero is having none of it. Romero tries to control but Joe wriggling away. Joe sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Joe gets full guard. Joe looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Romero knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Joe on the ground. Romero postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Romero pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Joe is keeping the position for now. Joe working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Romero doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Romero manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Romero throws a strike but Joe rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Joe works a leg free and moves into half guard. Joe wants to control but Romero is keeping him busy. Joe with the ground and pound but Romero uses the opportunity to regain guard. Joe pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Romero is keeping the position for now. Joe is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Romero is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Romero has escaped and now he's on top!

Romero landing with the ground and pound. Joe has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Romero should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Joe has tightened it up now! Romero should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
