With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sam Short!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Short lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Facial at a distance.
Facial misses with a lunging right hand
and Short counters with a stiff right hand.
Short looks to score with a jab to the body but Facial is just out of range.
Facial throws a jab but it's blocked by Short.
Facial throws a shot from downtown. Short moves away and avoids it.
Nice body punch from Short.
Short throws a body shot but no joy.
Facial is looking to counter punch.
Facial slips a jab from Short.
Facial paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
It looks like Sam Short has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd cheers as Short lands an impressive looking overhand right. Facial doesn't seem phased though.

Facial rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Short moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Facial works the jab nicely.
Short is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Facial rather than just go for the knockout.

Short lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Short misses with a hook. Facial ducked under it nicely.
Facial throws a counter high kick but Short was just alert enough to avoid it.
Facial tries a head kick but it misses.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Short cracks Facial with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
It looks like Jism Facial has been cut.
Facial displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Short moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Facial displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Short throws out the jab.
Short throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Facial counters with a crisp right that sends Short to the canvas! Facial follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!

In his post fight interview, Jism Facial started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
