Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Blik shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Blik looking for a guillotine from mount but Taps is having none of it.

Taps avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Taps stands and throws Blik's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Taps tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Taps has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Blik has momentary wrist control but Taps slips an elbow through the middle.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Taps doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Blik counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Taps!

Blik is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Taps can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Taps is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Taps trying to control but Blik postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Blik is working for a submission of some sort.
Taps tries to roll over but Blik keeps him under control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Taps wants to control but Blik is keeping busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Taps's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Blik fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Taps looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Blik actively working from the bottom here.

Taps is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Taps is working for a kimura but Blik is defending it quite comfortably.
Blik is pressing down on Taps's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Blik escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Taps gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Blik is breathing heavily.
Blik keeping moving, preventing Taps from controlling successfully.

Taps is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Blik had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Taps is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Blik Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Taps's back instead.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Taps working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Taps is in close to Blik's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Taps looking to pass the guard.
Frank Blik has got the better of the ground game so far.

Blik is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Taps frees his head nicely. Oh but Blik has switched to an armbar! Taps is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
