Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rob Rush (ranked 2397 p4p, 2387 weight class) and Evan Broberg (ranked 353 p4p, 350 weight class). Evan Broberg is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rob Rush! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Evan Broberg! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Broberg changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rush tries to avoid it but Broberg manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rush to the ground. Rush escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. A quick step to the side and Rush tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Broberg takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Rush falls off balance throwing a combination
and Broberg counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Broberg throws out a loose jab but Rush uses good head movement to avoid it. Rush lands a jab to Broberg's midsection. A big left from Rush misses. Broberg drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Rush misses with an uppercut
and Rush takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Broberg has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Rush throws a jab when Broberg was well out of range. Rush looks to throw the jab but Broberg is out of range. A nice side step and Broberg releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Broberg has closed the distance and engaged Rush in a clinch.
Broberg pulls guard effortlessly. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Broberg controlling Rush's posture. Broberg wants to sweep but no luck.
That's one minute gone in the round. Broberg preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Broberg looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Rush wants to pass the guard but Broberg is keeping the position. Broberg is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Broberg is trying to keep Rush in close.
Rush has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Broberg tries to land a sweep but no joy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Broberg preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Broberg is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Rush forces his way into half guard. Rush wants to free his trapped foot but Broberg is holding on for dear life with his legs. Rush is looking for a kimura but Broberg is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rush to get the leverage. Rush sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Broberg defending well though. Broberg is refusing to be controlled, as Rush sits in half guard. Rush is looking to stall here but Broberg recovers full guard. Broberg wants to sweep here but Rush controlling him for the moment. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Broberg is on top in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Broberg throws an elbow that misses. Rush uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Broberg's guard. Nice move by Rush! Broberg is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Rush wants to control from the top but Broberg keeps moving. Rush controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Broberg throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Rush throwing strikes but missing. Rush knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Broberg on the ground. Rush stopping the sweep attempt from Broberg. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Broberg is on top in guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Broberg's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Broberg preventing the sweep. Rush looking for a guillotine here but Broberg defends easily.
Broberg content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Rush preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Broberg landing some decent shots from guard. Broberg makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Broberg scoring with some ground and pound. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rush wants to sweep but no luck. Broberg has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Broberg distracts Rush with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Broberg makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Broberg passes Rush's left leg - he's now in half guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Evan Broberg dominated that round. That's time! Rush's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. No joy there for Rush, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Broberg just misses with a punch to the body.
Rush lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Broberg circles away quickly and effectively. Rush lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Rush throws an off balance right hand
and Broberg counters with a nice uppercut. Rush throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Broberg counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Rush is rocked! Broberg cracks Rush with a left hook right on the temple and Rush goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Broberg lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Rush is OK!
