Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Dantas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Veloso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dantas comes to the cage accompanied by Fear of the Dark. Veloso has chosen Sleep now in the fire as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Paulo Dantas has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Paulo Dantas seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Thiago Cunha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Veloso stuffs the takedown attempt from Dantas. Dantas gets slowly back to his feet.
Dantas looks for a takedown but Veloso sprawls well.

Dantas misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Veloso feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Dantas is working an open guard so Veloso takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Veloso decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Veloso closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Veloso lands in his opponent's guard.
Dantas utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Dantas is looking for a triangle but Veloso pushes his legs off easily.
Veloso stands and steps away. Dantas gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Veloso shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dantas's guard.
Veloso thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Veloso passes Dantas's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Veloso is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Dantas looking for submissions off his back.
Veloso looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Veloso not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Dantas looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Veloso stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Veloso shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Veloso showed some decent athleticism there.
Veloso escapes and gets back to his feet.
Dantas misses with a takedown
and Veloso counters with a single leg into guard. Dantas didn't expect that.

Veloso decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Dantas shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Veloso manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dantas manages to get himself to full guard.

Veloso drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Veloso jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Dantas has a closed guard, preventing Veloso from standing up.

Veloso decides to stand back up. Veloso steps back and let's Dantas get back to his feet.
Dantas gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Veloso counters with a nice double leg into side control. Dantas won't be happy with that.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Paulo Dantas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Veloso passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Dantas!

Veloso is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Dantas is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Dantas flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Veloso anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Dantas and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Veloso slips an arm under Dantas chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Veloso has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Veloso is squeezing on Dantas like an anaconda would it's prey. Dantas fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
