Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jonny Leech (ranked 3836 p4p, 3956 weight class) and Christian Mathers (ranked 356 p4p, 360 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Christian Mathers was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jonny Leech! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Christian Mathers! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mathers thuds a left hand into Leech's body. Mathers takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Leech tests Mathers's chin there with a solid looking shot. Mathers swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mathers tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Mathers shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Leech throws a body shot but no joy. Leech connects with a nice looking jab.
A nice leg kick lands there from Leech. Nice uppercut there from Leech. Leech misses with a wild body shot. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mathers. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Leech throws a lazy right hand but Mathers sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Mathers closes this distance looking for a takedown but Leech circles away. Mathers throws a series of punches but Leech avoids them all with ease. Leech connects with a good right hand that stumbles Mathers. Mathers circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Leech is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Leech throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mathers on the side of the head. Mathers gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Mathers fails in his attempt to clinch. Leech appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mathers takes one on the button. Mathers looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Leech is fending him off so far but Mathers persists. Nope, Leech circles away and we're back to standing. Jonny Leech has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Christian Mathers. Mathers closes this distance looking for a takedown but Leech circles away. Mathers looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Leech swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Leech jabs at Mathers's body. Mathers tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Leech manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Mathers moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Leech buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
A jab from Leech does it's job there. Mathers throws a right and a left that Leech avoids nicely. A slapping body kick lands there for Leech. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Leech throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Leech pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Leech sets himself, and Mathers steps forward looking for the clinch! Leech avoids it this time. Mathers shoots in looking for a takedown but Leech manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mathers's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Leech jabs Mathers right on the nose. Mathers blinks but takes it well. Mathers walks into a jab.
Mathers is rocked! Leech cracks Mathers with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Mathers falls to his knees and Leech doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jonny Leech!
