PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Poop Poopp (ranked 4399 p4p, 4662 weight class) and Lenard Larry (ranked 229 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Poop Poopp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lenard Larry!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, David Hoff and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poopp fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
And Larry tries to counter it with a takedown but Poopp pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Poopp gets the takedown into side control.
Larry is trying to buck Poopp off.
Poopp connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Larry some visible discomfort.
Larry is trying to improve his position.
Larry sneaks back into half guard.
Poopp looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Larry moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Larry has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Poopp is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Larry.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Larry can do anything to dispel that myth.
Larry is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Poopp is controlling him well.
Poopp could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Poopp looks up at the clock and then as Larry takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Poopp smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Poopp is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Larry's shoulder. That is not cool.
Larry wants to get back to his feet but Poopp drags him back down.
You can see the frustration on Larry's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Poopp scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Larry to see if he's OK.
Larry is pushing Poopp's head away, looking to escape. Poopp manages to hold on to the position though.
Larry is looking for a sweep.
Larry pushes Poopp away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Poopp gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Larry regains half guard there - taking advantage of Poopp's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Poopp slips a nice elbow through Larry's hands, connecting with Larry's forehead.
Poopp thows a huge punch but Larry dodges it nicely.

Poopp looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Larry with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Poopp is pressing down on Larry's thigh, looking to free his foot. Larry is holding on for now.
Poopp wants to lay and pray for a moment but Larry keeps working.

Larry manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Poopp manages to get himself to full guard.

Poopp thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Poopp can't keep his opponent in guard - Larry advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

I think Larry has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
