Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Panda One (ranked 3307 p4p, 2708 weight class) and Kaapo Westerinen (ranked 471 p4p, 399 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Panda One! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kaapo Westerinen! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Westerinen throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by One. One looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Westerinen blocks a jab. Excellent takedown into side control there by One. One is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Westerinen is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. One is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Westerinen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. One tries for a kimura but Westerinen is defending well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. One is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Westerinen is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. One working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. One looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Westerinen can do anything to dispel that myth. One tries to advance to mount but Westerinen denies him.

Westerinen is positioning himself to get back to half guard. One trying to control the position but Westerinen is working away. One swings around for an armbar but Westerinen sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into One's guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! One escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Westerinen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. One looking for a guillotine here but Westerinen defends easily.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Panda One dominated that round. That's time! One's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. One fails to land the takedown. Westerinen tries a quick counter leg kick but One is wise to it. Westerinen throws a leg kick which misses One's front leg but catches the back leg as One tries to avoid it. Westerinen throws out a leg kick but One moves out of range and Westerinen only half commits. Westerinen goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. One throws a right hand that misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Westerinen tries a low kick but One avoids it. Westerinen lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
It looks like Panda One has been cut. Westerinen with the inside leg kick. Westerinen with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Westerinen pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. One changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Westerinen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! One wants to lay and pray for a moment but Westerinen keeps working. One is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Westerinen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's one minute gone in the round. One goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Westerinen has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for One but great work by Westerinen. One can't do much from the bottom here. One is trying to improve his position. One is trying to work for a sweep but Westerinen has mounted him! One is working to get back to half guard.
One reaches up to try and control the position but Westerinen seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! One rolls and tries to escape and now Westerinen has his back!
That's two minutes gone in the round. One looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. One tries to roll but Westerinen sticks to his back.
One manages to reverse the position and now he's in Westerinen's guard. Nice work there by One.
One stands and throws Westerinen's legs to the side, diving into side control. Westerinen is not content to let One control the position. One goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Westerinen has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for One but great work by Westerinen.

Westerinen is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt One will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. One is trying to control Westerinen's posture but Westerinen avoids it. One is looking for a sweep. Westerinen gets to mount! One was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. One manages to regain half guard. Good work. One might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. One tries to roll over but Westerinen keeps him under control. One actively working from the bottom here. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Kaapo Westerinen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Panda One's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Westerinen got a little sloppy there for a moment and One has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Westerinen has managed to get both his arms back between One's legs - danger averted. One is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Westerinen trying to control but One is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. One looking to hit a scissor sweep but Westerinen is one step ahead there. One looking for a triangle here. Westerinen is fighting it but it looks tight! One pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Westerinen is tapping out - this one is all over!
