Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Klaus Tannenbaum (ranked 3760 p4p, 4447 weight class) and Trevor Love (ranked 443 p4p, 501 weight class). Tannenbaum comes into the arena with Helge Schneider - Bonbon aus Wurst blaring out of the sound system. Love comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Heart Crusher kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Trevor Love told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Klaus Tannenbaum! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Trevor Love! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Love avoids a kick to the body.
It seemed like Love was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Tannenbaum throws a push kick but Love slaps the foot to one side. Tannenbaum looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Love throws his legs up looking for a submission but Tannenbaum uses it to pass to side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Love is trying to improve his position. Love taking a bit of punishment here - Tannenbaum scoring with strikes. Tannenbaum sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Love is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tannenbaum scoring with punches and elbows. Tannenbaum lands an elbow. Tannenbaum is looking to take a break and control but Love is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The strikes coming from Tannenbaum are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Love is not content to let Tannenbaum control the position. Tannenbaum creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Love sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Tannenbaum tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tannenbaum lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Love down.
Love is trying to improve his position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Love can do anything to dispel that myth. Love is still trying to improve position. Tannenbaum wants to lay and pray for a moment but Love keeps working. Love taking a bit of punishment here - Tannenbaum scoring with strikes. Tannenbaum tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Tannenbaum has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Tannenbaum is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Love knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tannenbaum connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Love some visible discomfort.
Love takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. A lull in the action here as Tannenbaum stalls from top position. Check out the look on Tannenbaum's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
We've been hearing good reports from Tannenbaum's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Love is trying to improve his position. Tannenbaum is working Love over with some ground and pound from side control. Tannenbaum wants to lay and pray for a moment but Love keeps working. Love tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Tannenbaum easily slips into full mount! Tannenbaum working for a guillotine from mount but Love is in no mood to give up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Tannenbaum looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Tannenbaum controlling from mount. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Klaus Tannenbaum dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Tannenbaum lands a nice looking body kick. Love moves in looking to clinch but Tannenbaum pushes him off. Love tries to clinch but Tannenbaum moves out of range. Love closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Love working away. Tannenbaum manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Tannenbaum moves into full guard.
Tannenbaum is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Love defends well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Love wants to control from the top but Tannenbaum keeps moving.

Love must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Tannenbaum is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Love is aware though and is defending well. Tannenbaum working a defensive guard here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Love trying to control but Tannenbaum is working from the bottom.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Trevor Love is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A jab from Tannenbaum misses. Tannenbaum sets himself, and Love steps forward looking for the clinch! Tannenbaum avoids it this time. Tannenbaum throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Tannenbaum misses with an uppercut. Love changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Tannenbaum is looking to land body kicks. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Tannenbaum. Tannenbaum darts in and clinches Love up against the cage. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Tannenbaum takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Tannenbaum tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Love's elbow. Love gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Tannenbaum regains guard.
Tannenbaum lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Love is trying to keep Tannenbaum in close.
Tannenbaum controls from within his opponent's guard. Tannenbaum is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Tannenbaum keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Love's head. Love keeping moving, preventing Tannenbaum from controlling successfully. Love is striking but Tannenbaum is not phased and passes to half guard. Tannenbaum passes to full mount!

Tannenbaum lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Love hang on?
It looks like Trevor Love has been cut. Love is breathing heavily. Tannenbaum scores with a couple of good head shots there.

That has opened up Trevor Love's cut even more. Tannenbaum is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Love can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

In defeat, Trevor Love stepped up to the mic, saying 'I almost had him, I'll work on my game, and next time I will be better then ever.'.
