Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Juan Corona (ranked 228 p4p, 452 weight class) and Jewel Diaz (ranked 32 p4p, 54 weight class). Corona comes to the cage accompanied by Lil Baby, Lil Durk - How It Feels. Diaz has chosen Andre Nickatina, Drought Season as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 7 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Juan Corona!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jewel Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Richard Clark and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corona scores with a shot to the body.
Corona chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Corona shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Corona takes one to the side of the head.
Diaz moves out of range as Corona strikes.
A nice inside leg kick there by Corona. That's going to slow Diaz down.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Corona is defended easily by Diaz.
Corona connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Diaz momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice uppercut there from Corona.

Diaz looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Corona!

Corona is looking to regain half guard here but Diaz keeps moving and retains side control.

Diaz wants to free his trapped foot but Corona is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Diaz thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Corona's head.
Corona is looking for a sweep. Diaz is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Diaz looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Corona with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Diaz working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Diaz wants to take a breather but Corona is having none of it.
Corona has hold of Diaz's hands but Diaz slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Corona is pressing down on Diaz's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Corona is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Diaz is aware though and is defending well.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Corona is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Diaz makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Diaz stands up over Corona, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Diaz postures up and lands a big shot to Corona's brow.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Diaz's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Corona is looking to stand up but Diaz isn't so interested in that idea.
Diaz lands a couple of digs.

Corona is rocked!
Diaz content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Oh Corona is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jewel Diaz dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Corona tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Diaz is able to avoid easily.
Corona seems to have got his legs back now.
Corona throws a shot to the body.
Corona misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Diaz.
Corona looks to score with a jab to the body but Diaz is just out of range.

Check out the look on Diaz's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

A big shot lands for Diaz! That's hurt Corona! Will he recover? Diaz fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jewel Diaz!
Jewel Diaz spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
Juan Corona was interviewed post fight and said 'Damn'.
