Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steve Standell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Simon Shaw is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Steve Standell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Simon Shaw! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Richard Clark and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shaw decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Shaw is working for a kimura but Standell is defending it quite comfortably.
Shaw is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Standell has managed to free his arm - good work. Shaw seems to be working for a kimura but Standell defends the submission attempt. Shaw is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Shaw is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Standell is just riding it out for now. Shaw eventually gives up the hold. Standell is defending against the submission attempts here by Shaw.
Shaw looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round. Standell wants to control but Shaw is keeping busy and won't allow it. Shaw works his way into side control. Shaw wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Standell, who protects the arm well. Standell on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Standell tries to get out of the position. Shaw tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Shaw has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Standell struggling a bit here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Standell is looking for a sweep. Standell wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Shaw looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Shaw is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Standell has escaped the position, nice work there. Shaw is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Standell knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shaw thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Shaw is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Standell is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Standell sneaks back into half guard. Shaw looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Standell looks like he's trying to stand up.
Shaw seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Standell is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
