Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ashwin Tyson (ranked 1069 p4p, 1947 weight class) and Andre Powell (ranked 143 p4p, 239 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ashwin Tyson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andre Powell!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Bruno Hogan and Francis DeMontford.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powell ducks under a wild hook from Tyson.
Tyson throws a head kick that misses.
Powell unleashes a big counter combination but Tyson bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Powell keeps the fight on the outside.
Tyson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Powell manages to avoid it.
Powell swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Tyson ducks right into an uppercut from Powell.
Tyson fails to land with a series of punches.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Powell! But no joy.
Powell avoids the head kick by Tyson.
Powell is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Tyson with a body shot.
Powell avoids a punch combination nicely.
Tyson defending well as Powell loads up on a big left hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tyson throws a jab when Powell was well out of range.
Tyson looks to clinch
enabling Powell to counter with a crisp jab.

It looks like Ashwin Tyson has been cut.
Tyson throws a hook to the side of Powell's head but Powell sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Powell is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Powell throws a looping overhand right but Tyson ducks down to avoid it.
Powell takes a shot to the body in his stride.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Powell slips a jab from Tyson.
Tyson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Powell manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ashwin Tyson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Powell walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

It looks like Andre Powell has been cut.
A swing and a miss from Tyson.
Tyson takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
A jab from Powell misses.
Tyson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Powell moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Tyson! Powell is out on his feet! Tyson rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Powell is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Powell is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Ashwin Tyson really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Brooklyn Apothecary logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
