Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Paul Webber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, mr Lankey!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Alyssa Summers and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lankey closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Webber's guard.
Lankey trying to control but Webber is working from the bottom.
Webber can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lankey controls the pace.
Lankey looking to sit in guard and control but Webber gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Lankey wants to sweep here but Webber controlling him for the moment.
Lankey looking to control.
Webber is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lankey is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Lankey is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Lankey is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Webber is aware though and is defending well.

Webber throws a big elbow that misses.

Webber drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lankey dives on top into guard.

Lankey passes Webber's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Webber is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lankey pulls his head out easily.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Lankey looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Webber won't allow Lankey to pass to mount.
Webber wants to improve his position but Lankey is controlling well.
Lankey trying to pass the guard but Webber defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Webber fails with a takedown attempt.

Lankey lands a knee to the head.

Lankey has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Webber is trying to keep an underhook but Lankey manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Webber manages to escape and get back to his feet!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Webber gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lankey to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Lankey advances position into side control!
Webber wants to get back to his feet.
Webber wants to control but Lankey postures up.
Lankey is chipping away with strikes.
Webber is looking for a sweep.
Webber is breathing heavily.
Webber seems a little lost for a moment, as Lankey dominates the positioning.
Lankey landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Webber can't break the clinch.
Lankey lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Webber tries to break the clinch but Lankey is controlling the position.

Lankey utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.

Lankey has clasped his hands together around Webber's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Webber sneaks out the side door and pushes Lankey away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Lankey obliges.

Lankey turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Lankey manages to end up in side control.

Webber bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Lankey has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Webber tries to sprawl but Lankey drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lankey is looking to pass Webber's guard but actually Webber recovers to full guard.
Lankey makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Lankey lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Lankey scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Lankey content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Webber not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Webber looking for a sweep. Not yet Webber, not yet.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Lankey's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lankey working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Lankey working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Webber's head.
Lankey is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Webber seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Lankey distracts Webber with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Webber in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Lankey is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

We've been informed that Lankey has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Lankey wants to control from the top but Webber keeps moving.

Webber working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lankey doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lankey manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Lankey gets to his feet. Webber looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Webber wants to stall.

Lankey turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Lankey manages to end up in side control.
Lankey wants to lay and pray for a moment but Webber keeps working.
Lankey cracks Webber with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Lankey wants to take a breather but Webber manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Lankey.
Lankey is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Webber wants to stand up but Lankey is controlling him.
Lankey wants to control from the top but Webber keeps moving.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

mr Lankey showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Lankey is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Webber can't fight it off and eventually Lankey manages to take the fight to the floor. Webber looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Webber is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Lankey's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Lankey is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Lankey working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Lankey is keen to just control but Webber is a slippery customer.
Lankey keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Lankey seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Webber does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Lankey is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Webber doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lankey.

mr Lankey is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Lankey takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Webber wants to control but Lankey is keeping busy.

Webber looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Lankey uses his free foot to push down on Webber's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Webber.
Lankey controlling the position easily from mount.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Let's hope that Lankey has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

mr Lankey comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Lankey has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

mr Lankey really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that KOMBAT KLOTHING logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
