Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bakabaka Shi (ranked 5477 p4p, 5450 weight class) and Sp Sang (ranked 560 p4p, 559 weight class). Sp Sang has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Bakabaka Shi's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bakabaka Shi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sp Sang!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Ren Mimura and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shi ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Sang needs to keep his hands up - Shi had a free shot at his head there.
Sang is looking to clinch.

Shi tries to keep at a distance but Sang has taken the fight into the clinch.
Shi tries to pull guard but Sang holds him up against the cage and eventually Shi drops back down to his feet.
Sang lands an elbow inside.

Shi definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Shi is trying to drag Sang to the mat but Sang just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shi is looking for a takedown.

Shi was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
The fighters circling - Sang throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Shi avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Sang tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Shi paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Sang has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Shi finds it's way round the side to connect with Sang's head.

Shi looking to score a takedown here. Sang is defending well but Shi drives through and ends up in Sang's guard.

Shi wants to pass the guard but Sang is keeping the position.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Shi's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shi sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sang's guard.
Shi content to control rather than advance.
Nice strikes from Shi there.
Shi is taking a breather. Sang says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Sang avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Shi.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Shi is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Shi is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Sang can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Shi takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
