Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jamil Hurst (ranked 2082 p4p, 4526 weight class) and Yrock Shinsaku (ranked 288 p4p, 575 weight class). Hurst comes to the cage accompanied by Keep Their Heads Ringin'. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jamil Hurst!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Yrock Shinsaku!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hurst dives in and grabs Shinsaku's left leg, looking for a takedown. Shinsaku pushes down on Hurst's head and hops out.
Shinsaku let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Hurst drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Shinsaku is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Shinsaku looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Hurst not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
We've been hearing that Hurst has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Hurst shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Shinsaku is trying to defend but Hurst finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
A looping hook to the body misses from Shinsaku. Hurst does a little dance to reset his feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Shinsaku darts in and clinches Hurst up against the cage.
Hurst lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Shinsaku has one foot on Hurst's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Shinsaku misses with a head kick.
Hurst fails with a takedown attempt.
Hurst manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Shinsaku on his heels. He'll look to pass Shinsaku's guard now, I'm sure.
Hurst wants to pass the guard but Shinsaku is keeping the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Shinsaku throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Shinsaku misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Shinsaku buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Shinsaku lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

and Hurst counters with a nice double leg into side control. Shinsaku won't be happy with that.
Hurst moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Shinsaku tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Hurst presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Hurst controlling the pace for now.
Hurst is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Shinsaku has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Shinsaku!

Hurst looking for a triangle here. Shinsaku is fighting it but it looks tight! Hurst pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Shinsaku is tapping out - this one is all over!
