Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scully Peterson (ranked 6517 p4p, 25360 weight class) and Gus Tarbols (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Scully Peterson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gus Tarbols! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Micheangelo Fripello and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peterson looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Peterson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Tarbols dives on top into guard. Peterson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Peterson trying to control the position.
Peterson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Peterson looking for a sweep. Not yet Peterson, not yet. Tarbols wants to pass the guard but Peterson is keeping the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tarbols gets to his feet. Peterson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Tarbols shoots in looking for a takedown but Peterson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tarbols's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. The fight moves into the clinch position. Tarbols jumps guard.
Peterson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Peterson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Peterson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Peterson controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Peterson trying to control the position from guard on top but Tarbols is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tarbols pulls Peterson in close to his closed guard and prevents Peterson from doing any damage or advancing position. Peterson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Tarbols is trying to keep Peterson in close.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Peterson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The referee asks Peterson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Peterson prefers to stall for the moment though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tarbols is looking to regain half guard here but Peterson keeps moving and retains side control. Peterson trying to control the position but Tarbols is working away. Peterson tries to stand but Tarbols is controlling his head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Peterson has control of an arm but Tarbols manages to advance to Peterson's back! Peterson looking very determined here, making life difficult for Tarbols.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Peterson tries to escape the position.
Tarbols missing with punches from the back. Peterson tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Peterson working to try and regain half guard.
Peterson is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Peterson flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Peterson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Gus Tarbols dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Tarbols darts in looking for a takedown but Peterson gets double underhooks and turns Tarbols into the cage. Tarbols fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Nice takedown defense from Peterson. No joy for Tarbols on that attempt. An attempted straight right counter from Peterson misses the target. Scully Peterson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gus Tarbols. Tarbols gets tackled into the cage by Peterson. Peterson maintains the clinch. Peterson wants the takedown. Tarbols is fighting it off but Peterson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Tarbols's guard against the cage. Tarbols is looking to stand back up but Peterson counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Tarbols. Peterson wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Tarbols uses the opportunity to regain full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Peterson showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Tarbols thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peterson content to stall in guard here. Tarbols looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Peterson puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Tarbols manages to get to full guard.
Peterson postures up and lands a big shot to Tarbols's brow. Gus Tarbols has got the better of the ground game so far. Peterson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Tarbols looking to control.
Tarbols keeping full guard, as Peterson tries to pass. Peterson trying to control the position from guard on top but Tarbols is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Peterson controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Peterson slips nicely into half guard. Tarbols is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Peterson wants to take a breather but Tarbols is having none of it. Peterson is pressing down on Tarbols's thigh, looking to free his foot. Tarbols is holding on for now. Tarbols has hold of Peterson's hands but Peterson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Peterson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Tarbols does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Peterson is working for a kimura but Tarbols is defending it quite comfortably.
Tarbols wants to control but Peterson is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Tarbols fails in his attempt to clinch. Tarbols tries to clinch up but Peterson circles away and keeps his distance. Tarbols rushes Peterson and presses him up against the cage. Peterson pulls guard. Tarbols looking to pass the guard. Peterson looking for a sweep. Not yet Peterson, not yet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Peterson has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Tarbols should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Peterson has tightened it up now! Tarbols should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
