Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eric Ries (ranked 2252 p4p, 2793 weight class) and Timo Leyton (ranked 275 p4p, 339 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Eric Ries!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Timo Leyton!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Peter Branson and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leyton takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Leyton has a takedown stuffed.
Leyton looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Ries misses with a looping right.
Ries misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Leyton.
Ries connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Leyton's hands.
Ries pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
And Leyton tries to counter it with a takedown but Ries pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Eric Ries seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A punch combination from Ries misses.
Leyton tries for a takedown but Ries circles away easily
and Ries counters with a big head kick but Leyton shrugs it off.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ries throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ries throws an overhand right that lands on Leyton's shoulder, as Leyton tries to avoid the shot.
Leyton feints the counter takedown.
Ries tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Leyton with the counter takedown but Ries avoids it easily.
Ries connects with a nice looking jab.
Ries takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
A jab from Leyton misses.
Ries scores with a jab to the jaw.
Ries keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Eric Ries has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Timo Leyton.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ries rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Leyton moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Leyton changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Ries fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Leyton manages to avoid it.
Leyton is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Ries's half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Leyton lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Leyton stops Ries from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Leyton looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Ries on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ries tries to get out of the position.
Let's hope that Leyton has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Leyton scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Leyton moves nicely into side control.
Leyton has hold of Ries's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Ries tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Leyton cranks the arm and Ries screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Ries, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Timo Leyton!
