Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Contreras (ranked 3712 p4p, 4834 weight class) and Rhys Hughs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rhys Hughs is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jeff Contreras! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rhys Hughs! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Sandra Marshall and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hughs shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Contreras as he avoids it easily. Contreras seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Hughs misses with a body kick. Nice shot lands for Hughs.
It looks like Jeff Contreras has been cut. Contreras defending well as Hughs loads up on a big left hand. Hughs throws a head kick that misses. A head kick by Hughs misses and Contreras counters by clinching up. Hughs trying to land knees to the body.
Contreras stalling against the cage.

Contreras on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hughs tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Contreras's elbow. Hughs misses with a punch to the body.
Hughs manages to break the clinch.
Contreras tries to keep at a distance but Hughs has taken the fight into the clinch. Hughs ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hughs no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Contreras won't allow Hughs to get back to his feet. Contreras passes easily into side control. Nice work. Contreras working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Contreras is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hughs is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Contreras works to advance to full mount. Hughs defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Contreras is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Hughs to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Hughs shrugs it off. Contreras takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Contreras is cranking Hughs's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Hughs! He's tightened the choke and Hughs is tapping out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jeff Contreras!
