Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Better Dead (ranked 5557 p4p, 1991 weight class) and Blessed Barny (ranked 559 p4p, 256 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barny walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
We've been told by Dead's head coaches at Acme Island Savages that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Better Dead seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Barny throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Dead tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Barny is in Dead's guard.
Dead wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Barny manages to pass to side control.

Barny throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dead is looking for a sweep. Barny is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Barny wants to work for an arm triangle but Dead is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Barny lands a nice short elbow.
Dead is looking to improve his position.
Barny lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Barny is looking to take a break and control but Dead is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Barny takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Barny perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Barny looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Barny is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Dead doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Barny.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dead trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Barny manages to pass to mount!
Dead's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Barny lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

It looks like Better Dead has been cut.
Barny is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Dead is looking to improve his position but Barny isn't that keen on the idea.
Dead taking shots to the head.

This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Barny is landing with some decent strikes but Dead is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Dead knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Barny on the ground.

Dead comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
A left and a right from Dead both land. Nice combination.

It looks like Blessed Barny has been cut.

Dead lands a left and a right that send Barny crashing to the mat, dazed. Dead thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Barny is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Barny gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Dead points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Barny wakes up just in time to hear Dead thank his coaches in the post fight interview.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Better Dead!
