Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Shane O Malley (ranked 2251 p4p, 2478 weight class) and Sirus Hughes (ranked 241 p4p, 260 weight class). O Malley comes to the cage accompanied by Someone Like Me - by: Jon Connor. Hughes is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Devil "Shinedown". Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shane O Malley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sirus Hughes! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! O Malley throws a quick inside leg kick. Hughes takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. O Malley leaves Hughes with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. O Malley waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Hughes. O Malley looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Hughes shoots in and drives through. O Malley sprawls well. O Malley tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Hughes manages to circle out of the way. O Malley connects with a good right hand that stumbles Hughes. Hughes circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Hughes shoots in for a double leg but O Malley sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Shane O Malley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sirus Hughes. Hughes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts O Malley as he jumps to the side. Hughes moves forwards but O Malley connects with a nice, crisp jab. Hughes will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. O Malley connects with a solid leg kick. O Malley fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hughes looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Hughes shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with O Malley but O Malley pushes him off and we're back to square one. Hughes dodges the punch combination from O Malley.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hughes darts in looking for a takedown but O Malley gets double underhooks and turns Hughes into the cage. O Malley keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
O Malley lands the left hand. O Malley's jab looks to have found its range, popping Hughes under the eye. O Malley looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
That's one minute gone in the round. O Malley fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Hughes on the side of the head.
Hughes is rocked! O Malley fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Hughes is still on wobbly legs! Can O Malley finish him? Hughes with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling O Malley to score with a decent uppercut. Shane O Malley is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Hughes throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around O Malley's waist but O Malley gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hughes off to one side. Hughes shoots in for a double leg but O Malley sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Hughes seems to have recovered his senses. Hughes walks into a straight right hand from O Malley. O Malley fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Hughes has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. O Malley jabs at Hughes's body. Hughes darts in looking for a takedown but O Malley gets double underhooks and turns Hughes into the cage. Hughes tries for a takedown but O Malley sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. It looked like O Malley wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. A cross from O Malley lands. Hughes shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with O Malley but O Malley pushes him off and we're back to square one. O Malley is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Hughes looks winded! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hughes changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. O Malley tries to avoid it but Hughes manages to keep hold of a leg and drag O Malley to the ground. O Malley escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! O Malley throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
O Malley lands a left and a right that send Hughes crashing to the mat, dazed. O Malley thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Hughes with a lazy takedown attempt and Hughes takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. O Malley cracks Hughes on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Hughes falls backwards against the cage. O Malley follows up with more strikes that drop Hughes to his knees. O Malley keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Hughes! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shane O Malley! Shane O Malley spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
