Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Balal Lama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paul Bunyan !
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paulsen Ambrosius and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bunyan walks into a jab.
Lama does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Bunyan is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Lama lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Bunyan avoids the head kick by Lama.
Bunyan avoids the body shot from Lama.
Lama connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Bunyan 's hands.
We've been hearing reports that Lama has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Bunyan darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Lama is trying to get back to full guard.

Bunyan is trying to work for a kimura but Lama is defending well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lama is looking to escape.

Lama is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bunyan pulls his head out easily.

Bunyan prevents Lama from standing back up.
Lama wants to control but Bunyan passes into side.
Lama tries to buck Bunyan off but Bunyan is having none of it.

Bunyan working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lama manages to work his way to half guard, despite Bunyan 's best efforts.
Bunyan prevents Lama from improving his position.

Bunyan is trying to work for a kimura but Lama is defending well.

Lama pushes Bunyan off looking to stand but Bunyan dives back in and keeps control.
Lama works his way to full guard. Good work.
Lama manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bunyan manages to get himself to full guard.

Lama landing some decent shots from guard.
Lama has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Lama slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Bunyan has his foot on Lama's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lama works his way back into a safe position though.
Lama is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Lama drops back looking for a leg! Bunyan is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bunyan manages to kick Lama off! Lama jumps back into Bunyan 's guard.
Lama stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bunyan swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Bunyan looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Bunyan being controlled here, momentarily.
Lama scoring with punches to the head and body.
Lama not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Lama pushing down on Bunyan 's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Bunyan won't allow Lama to pass to mount.
Bunyan is looking to improve his position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Lama lands a nice short elbow.
Lama scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Lama stops Bunyan from getting back to his feet.
Lama looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bunyan with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Bunyan is staying active underneath Lama, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Bunyan is looking to improve his position.
Lama winds up and cracks Bunyan with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Still in half guard, Lama seems content to control.
Lama wants to take a breather but Bunyan is having none of it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Balal Lama dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Bunyan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lama.
Bunyan is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Lama pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lama throws a leg kick that is checked

and Bunyan counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Bunyan seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Lama is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Paul Bunyan !
Paul Bunyan very nearly forgot to thank Knock Out Clothing amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
