Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Darius Perseu (ranked 2383 p4p, 4497 weight class) and Brendan Wallace (ranked 325 p4p, 533 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Darius Perseu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brendan Wallace!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wallace gets a clinch.

Wallace is trying to trip Perseu. He has hold of a leg but Perseu is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Wallace persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Wallace trying to control the position from guard on top but Perseu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Perseu has his hands on Wallace's head, controlling the position.
Wallace stays in close to Perseu's body and controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Perseu definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Wallace is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Wallace moves into the clinch successfully.

Perseu successfully pulls guard.

Wallace has gone for a leg lock! Perseu slips out almost immediately though and dives into Wallace's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wallace looking to hit a scissor sweep but Perseu is one step ahead there.
Perseu postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Perseu missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Perseu drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Wallace manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Perseu has Wallace in his guard.

Perseu wants to get back to his feet but Wallace is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Wallace won't allow Perseu to get back to his feet.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wallace accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Wallace looking to sit in guard and control but Perseu gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Perseu is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Wallace has momentary wrist control but Perseu slips an elbow through the middle.

Wallace is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Perseu defends well.

That was a close round but I would say that Darius Perseu will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Perseu shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Wallace but Wallace pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Wallace rushes Perseu and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Wallace jumps guard but Perseu stands there with Wallace around his waist. Wallace gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Perseu is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Wallace gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Wallace goes for a takedown in the clinch but Perseu prevents it.
Wallace is looking to take this one to the mat.
Darius Perseu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brendan Wallace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wallace turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Wallace manages to end up in side control.

Perseu is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Wallace has just dragged him back down to the mat.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Perseu is trying to control but can't.

Darius Perseu overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Wallace is looking to take a break and control but Perseu is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Wallace prevents Perseu from standing back up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Wallace has Perseu up against the cage in a clinch.

Perseu gets control of Wallace's arms and successfully pulls guard. Perseu will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Perseu is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Perseu changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Wallace looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Wallace can't do much from the bottom here.
Perseu tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Perseu works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Perseu lands a nice forearm strike.
Perseu creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Wallace gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Perseu regains guard.
Perseu is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Wallace is controlling him.
Wallace wants to control from the top but Perseu keeps moving.
Perseu has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Perseu is working Wallace over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Perseu feints and as Wallace raises his hands in defense, Perseu changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Perseu, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
