Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bosque Trabuco (ranked 3262 p4p, 3288 weight class) and Matt Starr (ranked 391 p4p, 396 weight class). Matt Starr will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bosque Trabuco! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Matt Starr! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, David Hoff and Peter Branson.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trabuco closes the distance and clinches. Starr blocks an elbow strike.

Trabuco shoots in but no luck this time. Trabuco tries to clinch up but Starr circles away and keeps his distance. The fight stays on the outside here - Trabuco looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A combination from Starr does no damage. Bosque Trabuco seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No joy there for Starr, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Starr slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Trabuco controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Trabuco's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Starr lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

 The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Ground and pound from Trabuco. Starr wants to sweep but Trabuco has passed to side control! Trabuco looks up at the clock and then as Starr takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Trabuco smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Starr is looking for a sweep. Trabuco working the body and head with strikes. The referee asks Trabuco politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Trabuco prefers to stall for the moment though. Check out the look on Trabuco's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Trabuco lands an elbow. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Trabuco is working Starr over with some ground and pound from side control. Starr rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Trabuco moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Nice body punch from Starr. Trabuco fails with the takedown and Starr counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bosque Trabuco. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Starr throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Trabuco keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Starr's efforts to push away. Starr is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. With the fighters up against the cage, Trabuco throws an elbow but misses. Starr avoids a wild elbow strike from Trabuco. Starr blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Matt Starr showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Bosque Trabuco overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Trabuco content to control rather than advance. Trabuco looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Starr with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Trabuco takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Starr wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Ground and pound from Trabuco. Trabuco with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Starr won't allow Trabuco to pass to mount.  That's four minutes gone in the round. Trabuco is nestled in close to Starr, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Starr trying to control here.
