Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Brandino Blase (ranked 4953 p4p, 23766 weight class) and Kirk Fitzpatrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brandino Blase! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kirk Fitzpatrick! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blase gets the takedown into side control. Fitzpatrick looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! You can see the frustration on Fitzpatrick's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Blase wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fitzpatrick keeps working. Fitzpatrick is pushing Blase's head away, looking to escape. Blase manages to hold on to the position though. Blase wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Fitzpatrick, who protects the arm well. Fitzpatrick dodges the ground and pound from Blase. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fitzpatrick is not content to let Blase control the position. Blase lands an elbow. Blase wants to stand but Fitzpatrick is controlling his arm.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blase wants to control but Fitzpatrick is keeping him busy. Blase is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Fitzpatrick has escaped the position, nice work there. A lull in the action here. Fitzpatrick takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Fitzpatrick takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Blase lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Fitzpatrick down.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Blase controls the position. Blase tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Blase has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Fitzpatrick struggling a bit here. Fitzpatrick looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Fitzpatrick is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Blase is controlling him well. Blase wants to control but Fitzpatrick is keeping him busy. Fitzpatrick parries the strikes from Blase easily there. Blase is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Fitzpatrick to escape.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Blase tries to advance to mount but Fitzpatrick denies him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Blase is looking to take a break and control but Fitzpatrick is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fitzpatrick can do anything to dispel that myth. Fitzpatrick holding on.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Fitzpatrick misses with a takedown attempt - Blase sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Blase throws a series of punches but Fitzpatrick avoids them all with ease. Blase throws a leg kick but Fitzpatrick sees it coming and checks it nicely. Blase gets the takedown into side control. You can see the frustration on Fitzpatrick's face as Blase controls the position. Blase tries to move to mount but Fitzpatrick blocks the move with his legs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Blase wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fitzpatrick keeps working. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee asks Blase politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Blase prefers to stall for the moment though. Blase lands a decent elbow from side control. Blase tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Blase thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Fitzpatrick struggling a bit here. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Brandino Blase dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Blase. Blase fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Fitzpatrick, pushing him back against the cage. Fitzpatrick gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Blase.
Blase tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brandino Blase. That's going to take a lot out of him. Blase prevents the takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fitzpatrick is looking for a takedown. Blase trying to land knees to the body.
Blase pulls guard. Fitzpatrick postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Blase is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Fitzpatrick, into his guard.
Fitzpatrick is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blase trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Blase has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Fitzpatrick is proving hard to escape from. Fitzpatrick being controlled here, momentarily. Blase tries to free his leg and advance position but Fitzpatrick is retaining full guard. Blase wants to control from the top but Fitzpatrick keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Blase lands a couple of decent looking shots. Blase trying to stand up but can't free himself from Fitzpatrick's guard. Fitzpatrick has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Blase can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Fitzpatrick keeping full guard, as Blase tries to pass. Fitzpatrick is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Blase defends well. Blase wants to pass the guard but Fitzpatrick is keeping the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blase stays in close to Fitzpatrick's body and controls the position. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Blase wants to control from the top but Fitzpatrick keeps moving.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Blase works Fitzpatrick's body with a nice hook. Blase moves into the clinch successfully.
Fitzpatrick has Blase pressed against the cage, preventing Blase from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Blase prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Blase stalls. Fitzpatrick can't break the clinch.
Blase misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Fitzpatrick.
Fitzpatrick is looking for a takedown. Blase has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Fitzpatrick regains guard immediately. Blase trying to control but Fitzpatrick is working from the bottom. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Blase keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Fitzpatrick's head. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Brandino Blase dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round! No joy there for Blase, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Blase closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Fitzpatrick quickly recovers to half guard. Blase wants to work for an arm triangle but Fitzpatrick is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Blase seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Fitzpatrick does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Blase is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Fitzpatrick can do to turn this around? Blase trying to pass the guard but Fitzpatrick defending well. Fitzpatrick pushes Blase off looking to stand but Blase dives back in and keeps control.

Fitzpatrick manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. No luck for Fitzpatrick with that takedown attempt. Blase shoots in looking for a takedown. Fitzpatrick tries to sprawl out of it but Blase keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fitzpatrick manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Blase shoots in and gets a takedown into Fitzpatrick's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Blase is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Blase has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Fitzpatrick has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Fitzpatrick looking to control.

And that's the end of the fight! Brandino Blase showed his dominance in that final round. Well Blase has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
