The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buckley instigates a clinch.
Popkov swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Buckley misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Popkov doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Popkov manages to break the clinch.
Popkov misses with a looping left.
A jab from Popkov misses.
Buckley is looking to clinch but Popkov is avoiding it.
Popkov jabs Buckley right on the nose. Buckley blinks but takes it well.
Buckley closes the distance but Popkov moves to the side
and Popkov counters with a stiff right hand.
Joaquin Buckley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Buckley tries to close the distance and clinch up but Popkov swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Popkov misses with a straight left.
Buckley has taken the fight to the clinch.

Buckley lands with a light punch inside.
Popkov breaks from the clinch.
Popkov lands a left and a right that send Buckley crashing to the mat, dazed. Popkov thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Popkov circles away from the clinch attempt
and Popkov counters with a straight right hand.
Buckley is rocked!

Popkov works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Oooooh!!! Popkov has knocked Buckley down with a huge combo! Popkov steps away and waves a wobbly Buckley back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Buckley is still on wobbly legs! Can Popkov finish him?
Popkov lands a nice shot to the body.
Popkov drops Buckley with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Buckley looks back up at him and smiles so Popkov waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Popkov cracks Buckley with a left hook right on the temple and Buckley goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Popkov lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Buckley is OK!
