Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jeremy Briggs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Harley Washington! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Daniel Franklin and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Washington gets in close and instigates a clinch. Briggs misses with a hook from the clinch. Washington manages to break the clinch.
Washington throws a one two combo.
Briggs has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Walter J Abramowitz Center for Bigness in the buildup to the fight. Sloppy strikes from Briggs. Those never looked like landing. Washington wants to counter with a clinch but Briggs pushes him away. Washington throws a lazy uppercut
and Briggs counters with a lovely straight right hand! Washington rushes Briggs and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch. Briggs working aggressively here.
Washington blocks a body shot from Briggs. Washington breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Briggs throws a series of punches but Washington avoids them all with ease. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Washington moves into the clinch successfully.

Briggs could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Briggs is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Washington breaks the clinch.
Washington forces Briggs back against the ropes and clinches. Briggs is looking to control Washington's arms but Washington gets an underhook and turns him. Now Briggs has his back to the ropes. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. A short right hand to the side of the head by Washington. Briggs blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Washington displaying some good clinch control by pressing Briggs up against the ropes. Briggs tries a body shot but Washington blocks it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Washington stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Washington breaks the clinch.

and Washington counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Washington. Briggs tries to land knees in the clinch but Washington avoids the damage to the body. Briggs swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Washington misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Briggs.

Washington closes the distance and clinches. Briggs misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Washington.
Washington effectively controlling the action here. Washington breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Washington throws a head kick but Briggs moves out of range.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Harley Washington dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. Briggs throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Briggs throws a right and a left that Washington avoids nicely. Washington shapes to counter with a head kick. Washington throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Briggs misses the shot to the body. Briggs tries to keep at a distance but Washington has taken the fight into the clinch. Washington has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Washington breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Briggs keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Washington clinches up with Briggs and pushes him back against the ropes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Washington manages to break the clinch.

Harley Washington seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Washington has Briggs pushed against the ropes. Washington on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Washington manages to break the clinch.
Briggs throws a hook to the side of Washington's head but Washington sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Washington scores with a big combo that sends Briggs crashing to the mat! He's still conscious but the referee has seen enough as Briggs flops around uncontrollably and he's called an end to the fight! Washington jumps onto the ropes and throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Gross.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Harley Washington! A relieved looking Harley Washington thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
