The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wasson takes one to the chin there.
It looks like Larry Wasson has been cut.
Nguyen throws a right hand that Wasson ducks under and follows up with a left that Wasson also avoids with ease.
Wasson fails to land the takedown.
Scotty Nguyen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wasson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Wasson.
Nguyen tries for a takedown but Wasson circles away easily
and Wasson counters with a left and a right that stings Nguyen.
Wasson tries to clinch but Nguyen is having none of it.
Nguyen connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Nguyen is looking to slow Wasson down with leg kicks.
Nguyen dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Nguyen throws a head kick but Wasson moves out of range.
Wasson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nguyen connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Nguyen works over Wasson's head and body with a nice combination.
Nguyen clobbers Wasson with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Nguyen darts in and clinches Wasson up against the cage.
Nguyen lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Wasson is rocked!
Wasson looks gassed!
Nguyen scoops up Wasson onto his shoulder and slams him to the mat! Oh, Wasson is hurt! Nguyen smells blood and finishes the fight with a barage of punches! A highlight reel finish there for Nguyen!
