Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ian Timoic (ranked 3289 p4p, 3536 weight class) and Chuck Forrest (ranked 446 p4p, 469 weight class). Chuck Forrest is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ian Timoic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chuck Forrest!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Felipe Paraventi and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Timoic rushes Forrest and presses him up against the cage.
Timoic misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Forrest.
Forrest jumps guard.
Timoic engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Timoic missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Forrest tries to strike from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Timoic postures up.
Timoic wanted to stand there but Forrest had control of the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Timoic stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Forrest swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Forrest manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Timoic gets control of Forrest's arms and successfully pulls guard. Timoic will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Timoic escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Forrest gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Forrest thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

My spies in Ginásio Guerreiro inform me that Forrest has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Forrest wants to stand but Timoic has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Timoic has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Forrest has passed into side control.
Timoic tries to improve position but can't.

Forrest tries to score with some ground and pound. Timoic controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Timoic looks to move to half guard but instead Forrest has passed into mount! Damn!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Forrest sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Timoic tries to lock up and control but Forrest gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Timoic is trying desperately to improve position.
Forrest tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Timoic bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Timoic gets to his feet. Forrest looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Timoic throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Forrest lands the left hand.
Timoic is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Forrest's half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Forrest wants to control but Timoic is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Timoic shoots for a takedown but Forrest saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Forrest feints and then cracks Timoic's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Timoic down.

Forrest changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Timoic tries to avoid it but Forrest manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Timoic to the ground. Timoic escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Forrest tries to clinch but Timoic moves out of range.

Timoic jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Forrest walks away with a smile on his face. Timoic gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Forrest's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Forrest shoots in looking for a takedown. Timoic tries to sprawl out of it but Forrest keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Timoic manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ian Timoic has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chuck Forrest.
Forrest tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Timoic counters with a takedown into side control.
Forrest wants to get back to his feet but Timoic is dominant here and he's now got Forrest's back!
I really don't envy Forrest right now.

Timoic is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Forrest defends well.

Forrest is fighting to break Timoic's control of his arms but Timoic is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Horrible takedown attempt by Forrest or perhaps it was just good defense by Timoic, which made it look bad.
And that's the end of the fight!
