Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bjorg Fjordlinginsson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Francis Fukamura!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fukamura stuffs the takedown attempt from Fjordlinginsson. Fjordlinginsson gets slowly back to his feet.
Fukamura feints a counter leg kick.
Fjordlinginsson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Fukamura defends well and Fjordlinginsson ends up having to push Fukamura into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
And Fukamura tries to counter it with a takedown but Fjordlinginsson pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Fukamura has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Fjordlinginsson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Fukamura wants the takedown. Fjordlinginsson is fighting it off but Fukamura persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Fjordlinginsson's guard against the cage.
Fukamura tries to free his leg and advance position but Fjordlinginsson is retaining full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fukamura accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Fjordlinginsson drops back looking for a leg! Fukamura is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fukamura manages to kick Fjordlinginsson off! Fjordlinginsson jumps back into Fukamura's guard.

Fukamura felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
